  • You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059.

  • If you’re interested in scheduling, you can send a message using my contact form. It goes directly to my email and I will respond during my working hours. I prefer to talk with clients before setting an appointment so that we can discuss their needs to ensure that I’m an appropriate therapist for their concerns, review any insurance benefits or payment details, and provide information for our paperwork.

  • I am currently only offering virtual sessions.

  • It’s normal to be nervous for your first therapy session. It takes courage to be vulnerable and it’s not easy to tell your story to a new person. The purpose of our first meeting will be for us to decide if we’re a good fit, meaning do you feel safe and do we have an idea of how we can work together? It typically involves questions about your history and what brought you to counseling. We most likely won’t be able to cover everything in 50 minutes, so I usually plan to take the first few sessions to get to know you and develop your counseling goals.

  • I’m available to meet weekly or biweekly. It can be harder to build the relationship if we’re meeting less than that at the beginning of our work, but later on, we can adjust sessions to whatever frequency is best for you and your schedule.

  • A registered clinical social work intern is a pre-licensed master’s level social worker who has a license to practice psychotherapy while under the supervision of a licensed clinical social worker. I’m a registered intern and I am completing the required 1500 hours of supervised psychotherapy to be eligible for licensure in the state of Florida. I meet with my supervisor weekly and I provide my clients with their contact information should any concerns arise.

  • While I enjoy working with my Latin community, I am a no-sabo kid. I don’t offer services in Spanish, but if you want this service, you can email me, and I can refer you to clinicians who do.
